The narrative revolves around what is undeniably the most contentious and challenging period in Indian politics. It was 1997, and Bihar was on the top page of every major news outlet when one of the state's worst scandals involving various political party members broke out. The Rs 9.4 billion Fodder Scam triggered a chain of events in Uttar Pradesh politics.  



Maharani sets out to explore the challenges and sufferings of a silent leader in this political thriller based on the life of Rabri Devi, Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council. The film was directed by Karan Sharma. Maharani is more concerned with the position of women in politics than with the authenticity of actual events.  

After being shot, Bheema Babu resigns as Chief Minister of Bihar and names his supporting wife and homemaker, Rani Bharti, as his replacement. She has been busy with her house, family, and pets for the majority of the time. Will someone with no political experience, like her, be able to adjust to this new role in her life?
